2014 Twins Days Theme

Twins from all over the world converge upon Twinsburg and Twins Days, so, the theme for the 2014 Twins Days Festival is…

“Twinstock – Groovy in Twinsburg!”

Twins can dress as anything from that era, not necessarily just in tie dye or as hippies. Think peace signs, TV characters, fashion, cartoons, toys, movies…anything of that late 60’s – early 70’s time period! Please remember to keep your ideas family-friendly, but most of all have fun with it!

Twins Days Theme for 2002

The parade and the festival will have a patriotic theme to commemorate the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center in New York. The floats should display a future of hope, rather than the tragedy of the past.

A Look Back at Last Year’s Festival

As we look back to the 2001 festival, and the extremely hot weather that we encountered, there were 2,460 sets of registered twins present at the festival — 540 sets short of the 3000 sets for which we’ve been aiming for many years. There was new entertainment that was well-received by the public.

Changes in the Registration Fee

We must address the registration fee that has been in effect for the past ten years or so. We have been seeing all of the costs of the festival rising over the same period, while the fees that have been charged for the registration have remained the same. With the costs of mailing, printing, awards and other various items rising on a yearly basis, the TDFC has come to the conclusion that the cost for registration must be increased to help defray the expense of preparing and providing the registration packets. Starting with this year’s festival, the registration fee will be increased by $5, to $15 for a set of twins to attend. Triplets, quads and quintuplets’ registration fees will be raised accordingly.

New: A Twins Mart

We have estrablished another category to the Commercial Vendors Tent: A Twins’ Mart!! It is located off of the Midway, across from the research tent. There will be twelve spaces available. It will be used exclusively for twin-related items. This will make it more convenient for those who want to purchase twin-related items only.

Hotel Information

The TDFC has contacted many hotels in the area that will do their best to accommodate you. Take your pick of the various accomodations and pricing available as listed listed on the hotels page of this website. Choose from a variety of listings and prices. Please refer to the listings for prices and availability. The Holiday Inn Hudson is our official Twins Days Hotel.

We’ve Added One More Day For Twins’ Talent Show

Due to popular demand, the TDFC will hold the Twins Talent Show on Saturday AND Sunday afternoons. Please indicate on your Twins Talent Show registration form which day you would prefer to perform. Time permitting, you will receive a postcard confirming that date. Remember: in order to participate in the Twins Talent Show, you and your multiple(s) must be registered.

Twin Volunteers Needed

The Twins Days Festival Committee would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the twins who have helped us in the past by working in the sourvenir booth, and in other areas of the festival. We appeal to the twins (at least 18 years old) to help us in the booths again this year. Twins Days Golf Tournament

Hopefully there won’t be a downpour this year, so you may be able to play gold at Twinsburg’s Gleneagles championship golf course. All fees may be placed on your credit card. The tournament will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2002. This will include lunch, dinner, door prizes, trophies — and a good time! Click here for more details.

STOCK REDUCTION SALE!!

The Twins Days Festival Committee has completed its reveiw and inventory of the souvenires that we presently have in stock, and we’ve decided: CLEAR OUT ALL SIZES AND TYPES OF GEAR, GLASSES, PENS, T-SHIRTS, SWEATHSIRTS, JACKETS AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS! We will be offering many items that we have for a one-time-only SALE: BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE, i.e.: if the item is listed for $12, you will be two of the same item for $12! The 2002 Twins Days Festival theme t-shirt is not included.

Miscellaneous Information
  • There will be two (2) portable toilets located near the start of the parade next to the Twins Days office (where Babkas Tavern used to be) for the benefit of those watching the parade.
  • Friday parking for the Field Games and thw Wiener Roast will be at the Dodge Middle School on Ravenna Road across from the festival site. (The cost for the Wiener Roast is $2 for non-twins and parents.) Please watch for the signs.
  • General parking on site is allowed for all visitors at the new Twinsburg High School for a cost of $3 per card per day and $5 per day for motorhomes and buses.
  • No dogs or other pets will be allowed on site. Anyone bringing a pet to the festival will not be allowed on site. The only exceptions are licensed assist dogs used by the physically impaired. To prevent any problems, PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET.
  • There will be NO SMOKING in any of the tents ereceted on site for the festival. This is a state law that must and will be enforced.
  • THERE WILL BE NO PARKING OR BUS SERVICE AT THE CHRYSLER PLANT.
  • Please use our Meeting Board, located in the Twins Days tent, to contact others or people you have met in the past and would ike to visit with again.
  • VISA, MATERCARD, DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS will be accepted as the official credit cards for any transaction prior to the festival and for any purchases made at the Official Twins Days Souvenir booth during the festival. Due to the technical problems we had in the past, we will only accept cash, checks (with proper ID), and money orders for all transactions made at the Registration Booth. CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR REGISTRATION ON-SITE.

Rentals at the Festival

All rentals are sponsored by the Twins Days Festival Committee. Rentals are located in the first tent on your right as you enter the grounds. The prices are as follows:

  • Storage Lockers: $2 per day
  • Wagons: $5 per day (a valid driver’s license must be left as a deposit)

Twins Days Theme for 2001 is “DOUBLE FUN in 2001”!

Well, here we are again and we have, after many agonizing meetings and discussions, come up with what we think is the best theme for the 2001 Twins Days celebration. This theme will help Twins Days start a new century on a positive note and all we can see is growth.

The inserts in the 2001 registration packets will include area maps, schedules, coupons (where possible), Twin Bucks, certificates, souvenir discounts and other important information for you to use. If you will not be able to attend this year’s festivities but would like to have a souvenir program, please enclose $4 and two program will be mailed to you, along with the packet, after the festival.

Twins, please help us to offset the associated costs of registration and bookwork and register at the site if you don’t register in advance. Where else could you go for a cost of $5 per person and receive two souvenir programs ($6.50 value) and two days entry for two ($8 value) and be a part of the largest annual gathering of twins in the world!Please refer to the separate instruction sheet for filling out your Registration Form. The correct method for the filling out of your form will aid us in processing and entering the information and to make sure our records are correct. Thank You.

If you plan on coming back on Sunday, please DO NOT REMOVE THE WRISTBAND. They are waterproof, so don’t worry about swimming or showering. Bracelets will be put on by our registration personnel. REMEMBER, if you don’t have your bracelet on, you won’t be allow to enter the contests unless you pay!

The year 2000 brought a festival that was full of fun and excitement. It was kicked off with a fly-over by the United States Air Force. It was a very exhilirating start to the first Twins Days Festival of the new millennium, and also to celebrate the festival’s 25th.

The weather was beautiful and held out until Sunday afternoon, when the steady rains began. Though people were stilll coming out, there is no question that the weather kept the crowd smaller than anticipated. If the weather had cooperated, there would have been a good possibility to reach 3,000 sets of twins! The total number of registered sets of twins was 2,743, and a great time was had by all! To all of you who attended, thank you for your support!

Twin Volunteers Needed Again This Year

We, the TDFC, would like to extend our sincere thanks to those Twins who have previously helped us in the booths — a big, big THANK YOU for all your help in the past! We would again like to appeal to all twins in attendance — please donate at least one hour of your time, more if possible, helping out with registration, the twins contests, souvenirs and other areas. Attention, all high school twin seniors! Have you been to Twins Days and registered at least three times in the last five (5) years not including 2000? If you have, then you are eligible to apply for two $1,000 Twins Days Scholarships. Call for information and make your application no later than June 5, 2000. Group Photo Return Policy

The registration form has, as a record, the photo that you chose to be sent to you — so make sure that you choose the correct one. The TDFC will only send to you what has been indicated on your registration form.

The TDFC offers an unfolded, unwrinkled and uncreased photo. Any photos returned to the office for exchange for a day other than that indicated on the original order will be charged a $5 postage and handling fee per photo, providing that the photo is in resalable condition. Payment in U.S. currency or check, only, must accompany the return. The photo must be in our office no later than December 15 of the year the photo was taken. Any returns received after that will be returned unopened.

Please note: any photos returned after December 15 or without the return fee will NOT BE PROCESSED. Last year, there were at least a half dozen photos returned, either after December 15th and/or without the $5 handling fee. In 2001, any photos returned after December 15th or without the return fee will NOT BE PROCESSED. Please, do not call in January or February to report that your photo was not received.

INFORMATION You Need to Know
    • Again, there will be NO SMOKING in any of the tents erected on site for the festival. This is for the vendors benefit as well as the customers. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to those of you who did not smoke in a tent last year.
    • NO dogs or other pets will be allowed on site. Anyone bringing a pet will not be allowed through the gate on site. The only exception is dogs for the handicapped. Thank you for your understanding. To prevent any problems, please don’t bring your pets.
    • PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE PARK AT DODGE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE WIENER ROAST, which takes place in the Gym on Ravenna road across from the high school. THERE IS SUFFICIENT SPACE FOR PARKING.
    • Use our Meeting Board located on site (at the entrance) for all the twins and others wishing to contact other twins. Just write the name of the twins you want to meet on the ticket, sign your name, and hopefully they’ll contact you. This was started by Dana Bridges and Debra Bledsoe in 1998. This has been a very popular feature with all of the attendees.
    • Rental lockers for the public’s use are available at $2.00 per day rental at the Rental Booth, (the first one on your right side as you enter). Ohio State Sales Tax is included as part of the price.
    • Wagons will also be available for rent at the TDFC Rental Booth. The cost of renting a wagon is $5.00 per day. Your drivers license will be required to be left as a deposit. This is being done to ensure that all wagons that were rented are returned.
    • Due to the fact that none of the wheelchairs that were available for rent were rented out, the TDFC will no longer offer them for rental. We suggest that any persons needing a wheelchair please bring their own or make arrangement before entering the gate.
    • Please come early and let your family enjoy the whole festival, grab a bite to eat and walk through the Arts & Crafts area, stroll through the commercial tent and then to the group photo, stroll through the children’s rides outside the gates. After working up your hunger, stop at the barbecued chicken booth. After that, you can return to your room (get your hand stamped for re-entry). Later in the evening, refreshed and relaxed, return to the site and join the others to watch our fireworks extravaganza!
    • Due to circumstances beyond our control, there will be NO PARKING AT THE CHRYSLER PLANT OR ANY BUS SERVICE FROM THE PLANT TO THE SITE. Preferred Paid parking is available at the new Twinsburg High School. For a cost of $3 per DAY per vehicle and $5 per day for a motor home or a bus on a paved surface, this includes a shuttle to the entry gate. You won’t have to walk. This parking lot is located adjacent to the festival grounds on a private drive. Watch for the signs as you enter Twinsburg.
  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be accepted for any transactions prior to the festival and any purchases at the Official Souvenir Booth during the festival.

Twins Days Theme for 2000 is “Reflection: 25 Years”
As most of you know, this year marks Twins Days 25th festival. In celebration of that monumental milestone, the theme will be “Reflection: 25 Years” The theme was created from within the festival committee, and we want to thank all of you that sent in your ideas.

How did 1999 fare?

There were 2,700 sets of twins that registered last year. Again, the numbers were down somewhat for the second year in a row. There were many twins in attendance who did not take the opportunity to register. As a committee, we would like to know some o the reasons why, so that maybe some changes can be made to have more twins officially participate in the festival.

Last year’s festival was fun, exciting and successful! The weather almost cooperated all weekend, except for Saturday evening, when it rained and the fireworks were almost canceled. Though the fireworks were shot off earlier than scheduled to beat the rain that was beginning to fall, it turned out to be another wonderful display enjoyed by all!

SeaWorld is Back With Us!

SeaWorld Cleveland will again welcome twins and their families to enjoy a day at their park. Come see the many new attractions that are now open! Remember, twins are “two-for-one”, and others receive a $4 discount from July 30 to August 8, 2000. More information is available on the SeaWorld flyer in your registration packet (which you can pick up when you arrive at the festival). Vehicles are $3 per day; motorhomes and buses are $5 per day, on a paved surface. This includes FREE shuttle to the entry gate. The Preferred Parking lot is located adjacent to the festival grounds — watch for the signs as you enter Twinsburg. There will also be an information booth at Chrysler to help our guests. For a return trip, catch a shuttle bus at the entrance to the festival site. See the shuttle bus schedule for times and pickup points.

Twins Days Theme for 1999 is “TWO OF A KIND IN ’99”

As you are probably aware, a contest was held for the person designing the best theme for the 1999 Twins Days Festival as we did the previous year. The amount of entries we recieved was minimal and the time we had left to review, edit and finally print the theme and then send the final product to the shirt manufacturer to be printed on the shirts pushed our timetable to the max. We will approach it internally this year to save time and a crunch at the end. We wish to thank those of you who did send in your ideas.

How did 1998 fare?

There were 2,698 sets of twins that registered last year. Again, down somewhat from the past. However, there still were many people in attendance. It has been estimated that there were over 200 sets of twins who did not register, according to the people who were doing the registering, and we only needed an additional 302 sets to make our goal of 3,000 sets. So come on twins, help us!

There were those who were never here before or those who were too busy and did not register. A thought – wouldn’t it be great if half of the twins who have been here in the past showed up? However, the festival was fun, exciting, and successful – and the weather almost co-operated all weekend except for Sunday afternoon.

WELCOME MAYTAG AS A SPONSOR

We would at this time like to announce the latest sponsor to is joining the Twins Days Festival. The Twins Days Festival Committe and Maytag Appliances have entered into an agreement. There will be a Twins Bake-Off with 20 sets of Twins competing at the Twins Days Festival using the new Maytage Gemini Range. We’ll see you at the site in Maytag’s tent!

A PRICE INCREASE FOR TWINS

The Twins Days Festival Committe, Inc. has reviewed in detail the overall pricing structure for the various events and services provided for the twins who attend the festival. Pricing and costs were reviewed by the Committee and some changes were made that whill affect all twins except those presently in the TDA who are covered by their present multi-year agreement that they signed. The registration fee will be raised $2.00 for a total of $10.00 per set, so please come. After all, two bucks more can’t hurt you or your family when you consider what you are getting for free (as compared with an amusement park, for example)!

Group Photo Return Policy

The registration form has as a record, the photo that you chose to be sent to you, so make sure that you choose the correct one.

Any photo returned to the office for exchange for a day other than that indicated on the original order will be assessed a $4 handling fee per photo, providing that the photo is in resaleable condition. Payment in U.S. currency only must be accompany the return. the phot must be in our office not later than Decmeber 15 of the year the photo was taken. Any returns received after that will be returned unopened.

The Twinsburg Hilton Inn a Host Hotel

Twinsburg has a new hotel, and the Twins Days Festival welcomes them as a new sponsor. A long-awaited hotel has been built at the intersection of I-480 and Rt. 82. Most of the Twins Days activites prior to the festival will take place here. We have given it the annotation of “the Host Hotel for the Twins”. Contact them through this website to make reservations. There will NOT be an 800-number or travel agent available for these reservations.

For Your Information…

We must stress the following two items for your information!

  • Again there will be NO SMOKING in any of the tents erected on site for the festival. This is for the vendors benefit as well as the customers. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to those of you who did not smoke in a tent last year.
  • NO dogs or other pets will be allowed on site. Anyone bringing a pet will not be allowed through the gate on site. The only exception is dogs for the handicapped. Thank you for your understanding. To prevent any problems, don’t bring your pets.
  • Use our Meeting Board located on site (at the entrance) for all the twins and others wishing to contact other twins. Just write the name of the twins you want to meet on the ticket, sign your name, and hopefully they’ll contact you. This was started by Dana Bridges and Debra Bledsoe last year. Thanks you two!
  • Rental lockers for the public’s use are available at $2.00 per day rental at the Twins Days tent (the first one on your right side as you enter). Ohio State Sales Tax is included as part of the price.
  • Wheelchairs and wagons will be available for rent at the TDFC Information Booth to your right side in th efirst tent. The cost of a daily wheelchair rental is $22.00 per day; the cost of renting a wagon is $5.00 per day. Your drivers license will be required to be left as a deposit. This is being done to ensure that all of the rented wagons are returned.
  • Please come early and let your family enjoy the whole festival, grab a bite to eat and walk through the Arts & Crafts area, stroll through the commercial tent and then to the group photo, stroll through the children’s rides outside the gates and return to your room later in the evening, refreshed and relaxed. Then, return to the site and join the others to watch the fireworks extravaganza.
  • PARK FOR FREE at the Chrysler stamping plant. This includes FREE shuttle to the entry gate. There will also be an information booth at Chrysler to help our guests. For a return trip, catch a shuttle bus at the entrance to the festival site. See the shuttle bus schedule for times and pickup points.

    Or, pay $3 per vehicle per day for preferred parking at the NEW TWINSBURG HIGH SCHOOL location next to the site on Ravenna Road.

    The preferred parking lot is located adjacent to the festival gtrounds on a private drive — watch for the signs as you enter Twinsburg.

  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be accepted for any transactions prior to the festival and any purchases at the Official Souvenir Booth during the festival.
